Distracted By Star Wars

The other day my post on my Star Wars found art was picked up and linked to by the fine folks over at Distracted By Star Wars.  The site is great.  It collects/posts all things Star Wars found on the net.  Go check it out and waste an hour or 2!

New Art!

One of my favorite things about participating in art shows is the opportunity of trading art with other artists. At this years Indie Craft Experience Holiday Shopping Spectacular I traded some of my art for this:

Recovering from the I.C.E. Holiday Shopping Spectacular

Thanks to everyone that came out to the ICE Holiday Spectacular this weekend.  It was a great show and great times.  For all the people I talked to about commissioned paintings or a painting/print you wanted, just email me to discuss (belligerentmonkey@gmail.com).

This year is winding down. I am in 1 more show this year which will be at the The Gallery at East Atlanta Tattoo on December 12th.  I'll post more info a little closer to the show.  Thanks!

Star Wars themed found art

Here are some new pieces I just finished.  I wanted to try my hand at making some found art and decided to go with a Star Wars theme.  These are all framed pictures I found at thrift stores and I added Star Wars elements.  I will have these at this weekend's Indie Craft Experience Holiday Shopping Spectacular.  Come check them out in person!.  They'll make a great holiday gift!

Someone Named a Mixed Drink After Me

Apparently I have a mixed drink named after me. I just found this recipe for the Belligerent Monkey.

Ingredients to use:     3    beers
5    shots of vodka
                                                1    water

Directions:                  Put 3 beers in a pitcher. Add Vodka until it looks good then pour water mixed with "Country Time" Lemon Berry Sippers" Mix well and drink.

That sounds absolutely awful.  As the Belligerent Monkey, I officially reject that recipe in favor of my own.

Ingredients to use:     1    bottle of whiskey
                                                4    cubes of ice

Directions:                  Put 4 cubes of ice in a glass. Add whiskey. Drink.

Much better. Circle C! Circle R!

I'm going to be in a movie (kinda/maybe)!

Well, I won't be but my art might. I just sold a painting and some prints to be used as set dressing in an upcoming ABC Family movie. It's a new sci-fi romance made-for-TV movie titled "Always and Forever". They picked up some prints from the ladies over at Third Half Studios to use too.

Here is the only info I have on the movie right now:

Writer/Producer Jim Cruickshank and Writer/Director James Orr have penned the screenplay. Orr and Cruickshank first collaborated on the Walt Disney Pictures film "Young Harry Houdini" for which they both received Primetime Emmy Award nominations. They have since teamed up for such films as "3 Men and a Baby", "Mr. Destiny", "Father of the Bride I and II", and "Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit". Cruickshank and Orr are responsible for a cumulative box office of over a half billion dollars.

I'll post more info when I get it. Hopefully you'll have some local Atlanta art gracing your TV sets soon! Here are the painting/prints to look for:

Recovering from the Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp

Thanks to everyone that came out to the Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp. It was a lot of fun. Hopefully next year they can get the artists back into the park and in front of more people.

Next up is the Indie Craft Experience 2010 Holiday Shopping Spectacular on November 20 & 21.

re: Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp 11/06/10

Just found out that my booth at the Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp will be on Wylie Street this year. I'll be just west of the intersection with Tye Street. Here is the map. Looks like they are expanding the artist market which is causing the move away from the park.

Hope to see you there!

Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp 11/06/10

Come on out this coming Saturday (11/06/10) to the Cabbagetown Chomp & Stomp. I will be in the artist market (Booth #6) with a couple of brand new prints and paintings. There's all you can eat chili and bands all day long. The chili starts serving at noon and usually goes pretty fast. Make sure you get there around 12 to sample the 100+ different recipes.

Hope to see you there!
