24 Hour Delivery Zine

I while back I submitted a drawing to the 24 Hour Delivery zine.  Chris Hamer (Urbnpop) puts it out and gives an idea/theme that artists have 24 hours to respond and it's compiled and printed.  The theme for this one was Wizard of Doom.  Here was my submission.

I thought it turned out well especially with the tight turnaround time.  Since it was a black & white zine with a short deadline I didn't bother to do any color.  I plan on going back and coloring it in and making a real print out of it.

New Work! Mutant Narwhal in a Fishbowl

Here's a relatively new piece that's a mutant narwhal hanging out in a fishbowl.  It's in the same vein as my other cartoony 1-eyed mutant animals.  I've got it as a print mounted on canvas and working on it as a new woodcut.

ICE Salvage 2016 - Swag Bag Design

Super excited that the Indie Craft Experience (ICE) asked me to design their swag bag for the 2016 Salvage show.  The 1st 100 people through the door get a FREE swag bag filled with stuff from the vendors.  And this year they will have my design on them.

Hope you make it out.  It's Saturday April 17th.  Here is the facebook event page:

ICE SALVAGE SPRING 2016

New Work! Star Wars Atlanta Woodcuts

I recently did a couple of Star Wars themed take offs of the state/heart design.  You can see the Atlanta and Auburn versions HERE.  I decided to make the Atlanta version as a 3D woodcut.  They are approximately 1' tall and ready to hang.  Here are some progress photos.

New Work! Octopus #1

Here is a new monster I recently finished.  In the same vein as my previous cartoony 1-eyed ones.  Prints/magnets available soon just in time for festival season.  I've got a few more partially drawn out and in the queue.  Hopefully will have them finished up before the 1st big festival of the year (Inman Park).  Lots to do and not enough time in the day!

New Work! GA/AU + Star Wars = This

Here are a few takeoffs of the popular state w/ a heart theme.  Star Wars + Atlanta & Star Wars + Auburn.  Prints & magnets available soon.  I will have them before the 1st big festival of the year (Inman Park).

Star Wars & the Descendents mashup

After a lucky auto-correction in a text from the Phantom Troublemaker, Mylo Ren was born (very similar to how Hilary Shank was discovered).  Mylo is Kylo Ren's geekier cousin who is in a punk band.  Prints and hand pressed magnets to come!

War Eagle! - Newish Work

In honor of this coming weekend's Auburn and Georgia game here are a couple new-ish prints that I've done.  I obviously did the Auburn one 1st but felt like I should do one for our neighbors to the north.  If there is another team you'd like to see (that isn't Alabama) then please send me an email.  Thanks and WAR EAGLE!

DragonCon American Sci-Fi Classics - New Work!

I am very happy to announce that I will be a featured artist in this years American Sci-Fi Classics track of DragonCon.  They commissioned some new work based on some of the movie anniversary panels and will have the artwork blown up on large paper hanging in the track room all weekend.  I have 11x17 sized prints available on my Etsy site.  Only a few more days to Con!  Can't wait! Hope you check out some of the panels.  I will have some artwork given out during a few panels including being an official sponsor of the Dirty Dirty Con Con Game Show on Saturday night hosted by Phantom Troublemaker.

New Work! Dr Who Dr Dre Mashup

This one isn't exactly new.  I finished it a little while back but haven't posted it here.  Here's a Dr Who and Dr Dre mashup.  Currently availble as a print on canvas and a magnet.  If you're interested please send me an email.

New Work! Drunk Elephant

Here's a brand new piece I just finished.  This one came together pretty quickly and I like how it turned out.  It's available as a loose print, print on canvas, and a magnet. The loose print is available on my Etsy site.  If you're interested in a print on canvas or a magnet, please send me an email.

New Work - Warhol Wonder Woman

Here's an Andy Warhol. take on Wonder Woman that I just finished.  These are always fun to do and I've done a Princess Leia and Ron Swanson in the same style before.

New Work - Robot #5

I made this guy over the holiday break.  All the equations in the background are actual calculus equations.  This is my 5th robot and I think I have a few more left in me. You can see the others here: #1, #2, #3, and #4.  I'll have prints and magnets of this one available soon.  Shoot me an email if you're interested.

Whose EFF Is It Anyway? - Dragon*Con 2014

Here's the poster I worked on for the Whose EFF Is It Anyway? game happening Saturday night at Dragon Con. It was a collaboration done with the Phantom Troublemaker of Needless Things (he did all the awesome text and logos). He will be hosting this 1st annual erotic fan fiction reading contest along with Miss Lady Flex of Le Sexoflex. You should go and win prizes including some of my artwork.

DCW - Dragon*Con 2014

After many years of attending Dragon*Con, my friends and I finally checked out the annual wrestling event a few years ago.  The annual DCW (Dragon*Con Wrestling) event is now a staple in our Dragon*Con experience each year.  After a few years of attendance we decided that the obnoxious and drunken antics/chants/cheers weren't enough to single our group of friends out, so we decided on a name and matching purple shirts.  The last 3 years the DCW Hooligans have sported a group shirt during the event.  I've been happy to work on the last years and now this years.  Here is the new design:

And here is last years done with help from the Phantom Troublemaker:

New Work! Movies Edition

Here are 3 new-ish pieces in the high contrast style.

I'm working on some new ones and will post those when I'm done.

Phantom Troublemaker Logo

If you don't currently read the ranting and ravings of the Phantom Troublemaker then you should start now.  Check out NeedlessThings to get your sci-fi, geek, and luchadorkery fix.  I previously did a commissioned painting for Ms. Troublemaker which you can see HERE and you can check out the print on my Etsy site.  A little while ago we talked about me helping update his logo.  He recently unveiled it on his blog.  You can check it out below:

Epic Sci-Fi Foosball Game

Sleaze-Staxxx is a great local Atlanta band and you should definitely check them out.  I previously painted a painting for him a few years back.  I was stoked when he asked for another one.  This was acrylic paint on a 24"x36" canvas.

I've got a print of the painting on Etsy.  Check it out here: Epic Sci-Fi Foosball Game Etsy Listing.  I will have the prints with me next weekend at the Inman Park Festival (4/26 - 4/27).  Hope to see you there!

Billy Dee as Two-Face

Tim Burton's Batman included a couple odd or questionable casting decisions.  People freaked out when they heard Michael Keaton was cast as Batman.  Critics were proven wrong as he nailed it and went on to be the best Batman for the next 15 years or so until Christian Bale (arguably) took over the title.  Another odd casting was Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent.  It's only odd because the character has historically been white.  As everyone knows by now Harvey has an unfortunate accident and becomes Two-Face.  People were speculating how that would look in the sequel if Billy Dee was brought back.  Unfortunately no ones knows because when they did get around to including Two-Face as a villain in Batman Forever, they ignored Billy Dee and brought in Tommy Lee Jones.

Phantom Troublemaker recently posted on FaceBook that he was curious how it would've looked and asked someone to show him.  I quickly volunteered and then promptly procrastinated for a couple months.  I went for a more comic book-y look with the orange and plaid suit.  I was stuck deciding on a background (as I usually am) and came up with 2 choices (see what I did there).   So here they are:

New Painting! Ron Swanson!

Here's a new painting I just finished of Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec.  It's acrylic paint on 24"x24" stretched canvas.

"I’m a simple man. I like pretty, dark-haired women, and breakfast food." - Ron Swanson
